A little clarity.

We use cookieless website measurement to understand visits, interest in each app, and download choices.

PostHog web analytics

PostHog runs in always-cookieless mode. It processes request information, including the network address and browser user agent, to generate an anonymous identifier that changes daily. It does not store an analytics identifier in cookies or browser storage. The project discards raw IP addresses from stored events.

We measure pageviews, app-card clicks, download choices, support clicks, traffic sources, and campaign tags. Browser and device information help describe traffic. Visitor counts are estimates, and the daily identifier cannot reliably identify a returning person across days or devices. This website does not enable person profiles or session recordings. Cloudflare aggregate counters

Our separate counters store daily totals by page, download choice, and broad traffic source. They do not store IP addresses, browser user agents, email addresses, full referring URLs, or browsing histories. A random action ID prevents delivery retries from counting twice within 48 hours; expired retry records are removed as new events arrive. Repeat deliberate clicks count separately.

Download counts mean button clicks, not verified completed downloads or installations. Support clicks do not confirm a payment. The reports from different systems are kept separate.

Homebrew downloads

Homebrew download requests are counted separately from website button clicks. We store daily totals and temporary random request IDs. A server event sends the app name, version, and a random per-request ID to PostHog without forwarding your IP address, browser details, or cookies. These requests do not create person profiles or measure completed installations. The Mac app sends no analytics.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a secondary tracker with analytics and advertising storage denied. It may send cookieless measurement requests; it does not set new analytics cookies. Previous Google Analytics opt-outs are respected, and cookies from the former setup are removed. Google Signals, advertising personalization, and User-ID are not enabled. Website measurement runs only on our approved live hostnames. Local files, localhost, local network addresses, and deployment previews are excluded.

Day Progress

The Mac app works offline. It does not send app-usage analytics or require an account. Its appearance preferences stay on your Mac.

Fonts and files

The font and images are served with the website. Cloudflare processes technical request information to deliver and protect the site. Optional support is handled on Ko-fi; its own privacy terms apply.
